• 22 years of experience in the patent field on four continents
• Licensed to practice as a U.S. lawyer in California, Ohio, Washington, D.C. and Virginia
• Licensed to practice as a patent attorney before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, IP Australia and the Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand
• 4 university degrees (BSci, MSci, Masters of Industrial Property and JD (law))
• Substantially involved in the building of the Michelson patent portfolio, the bulk of which was sold to Medtronic for US$1.35 Billion
• Personal involvement in preparation of claims which were litigated in three trials that resulted in judgements or settlements over US$100 Million each
• Personally managed 7 re-examination proceedings, all of which resulted in the retention of claims that were litigatable
• Formerly a patent examiner at the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (Medical Device arts)
• Authored a law review article subsequently cited in law school books and journals, and in a brief submitted before the U.S. Supreme Court (2012)(Mayo v. Prometheus Laboratories)
• Battled and won a software case against statistically the most difficult patent examiner at the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office
